In 2013 we moved across Uptown Charlotte, from the Southend neighborhood to NoDa, on the north side. While showing clients a home, Scott realized it might be a perfect fit for us, and after the client said they weren’t interested we jumped! Moving to NoDa was formative for us, opening a major chapter in our lives. The home was a foreclosure and priced well below value. It was zoned for both commercial and residential, so Scott could move his Real Estate office to one of the front rooms, and Joey could move his salon to the other.
The backyard had a huge poured concrete parking lot, the perfect spot to build a raised bed urban garden. And it was huge for urban standards, 100’ wide at the street and 195’ deep. It was one block from the main shopping, dining and entertainment district in the area as well.
We bought it, renovated the kitchen and family room, built out our gardens and lived in, and loved, this home until 2018 when we sold it to move to Honduras.
You can see in the early photos when we bought it and painted it, or as we preferred say: “glitter bombed it”. The latest photos with it white on the outside is after we painted it to sell it, toning it down a bit for the general audience!
